Record only the details that help
A meal name may be enough. Add the cost if you want to remember spending, a rating if you want to find favorites, or a note about what you would change next time. For a meal made up of several dishes, keeping them together avoids treating each item as a separate occasion.
A photo does not have to become an AI request
Normal photo recording uses local image processing. Automatic background removal is a setting for newly captured or reselected diary photos; changing it does not restyle your existing entries. You can keep a full photo instead. The optional meal-recognition tool is a different workflow that asks for cloud-processing permission.
Keep a history you can understand
A decided meal remains distinct from an eaten meal until you record it as eaten. Local storage is the default, while optional iCloud sync uses your private CloudKit database. Deleting a photo, deleting app data and restoring a purchase are different actions; consult the deletion guide before removing data you may need.
Useful moments to try it
- Remember the lunch you liked enough to order again.
- Keep a visual record without turning every meal into calorie accounting.
- Look back at the cost, notes and ratings you chose to record.
